How to revert archived mail in gmail

Reverting archived emails in Gmail is a bit tricky, but it's possible. Here are the steps:

Method 1: Using the "Undo" feature

  1. Go to the Gmail settings by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right corner and selecting "See all settings."
  2. Scroll down to the "General" tab and click on the "Undo send" dropdown menu.
  3. Make sure the "Enable undo send" option is selected.
  4. Now, go to the archived email you want to revert.
  5. Click on the three vertical dots next to the email and select "Undo" from the dropdown menu.
  6. If the email has already been archived for more than 30 seconds, you won't be able to undo it. In that case, you'll need to use Method 2.

Method 2: Using the "Move to Inbox" feature

  1. Go to the archived email you want to revert.
  2. Click on the three vertical dots next to the email and select "Move to Inbox" from the dropdown menu.
  3. Confirm that you want to move the email to your inbox by clicking on "Move" in the pop-up window.
  4. The email will now be moved back to your inbox, and you can mark it as unread or respond to it as needed.

Method 3: Using the "Search" feature

  1. Go to the Gmail search bar and type the following search query: in:archive
  2. Press Enter to search for archived emails.
  3. Find the archived email you want to revert and click on it.
  4. Click on the three vertical dots next to the email and select "Move to Inbox" from the dropdown menu.
  5. Confirm that you want to move the email to your inbox by clicking on "Move" in the pop-up window.

Note that these methods only work if you have the "Undo send" feature enabled in your Gmail settings. If you don't see the "Undo" option, it's likely that the email has already been archived for too long, and you won't be able to revert it.
