How to stop mail notifications

The pesky mail notifications! Here are some ways to stop or minimize them:

For Gmail:

  1. Turn off notifications for individual emails: Click on the three dots next to the email subject and select "Mute" to stop notifications for that specific email.
  2. Turn off notifications for a specific label: Go to the Gmail settings (gear icon), then "Filters and Blocked Addresses", and create a filter to apply to a specific label. Set the filter to "Never send notifications" for that label.
  3. Turn off notifications for all emails: Go to the Gmail settings (gear icon), then "General", and uncheck the box next to "Enable notifications".

For Outlook:

  1. Turn off notifications for individual emails: Right-click on the email and select "Mark as read" or "Move to folder" to stop notifications for that specific email.
  2. Turn off notifications for a specific folder: Go to the Outlook settings (File > Options > Mail), then "Other", and uncheck the box next to "Play a sound when a new email arrives" for the specific folder.
  3. Turn off notifications for all emails: Go to the Outlook settings (File > Options > Mail), then "Other", and uncheck the box next to "Play a sound when a new email arrives" for all folders.

For Other Email Clients:

  1. Check your email client's settings: Look for settings related to notifications, sounds, or alerts, and toggle them off or adjust them to your liking.
  2. Use a third-party email client: Some email clients, like Airmail or Spark, offer more customizable notification settings.

Additional Tips:

  1. Use a notification manager: Apps like Notification Manager (Android) or Notification Center (iOS) can help you manage and customize your notifications across all apps, including email clients.
  2. Set specific notification times: Instead of receiving notifications for every new email, set specific times to check your email, like during your lunch break or at the end of the day.
  3. Use email client features: Many email clients offer features like "Do Not Disturb" or "Focus" modes that can help minimize notifications during certain times or periods.

Remember to adjust these settings according to your email client and preferences to minimize distractions and stay focused!
