Icloud email change
Changing your iCloud email address is a relatively straightforward process. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you through it:
Before you start:
- Make sure you have a backup of your iCloud data, including contacts, calendars, and reminders.
- Be aware that changing your iCloud email address will also change the email address associated with your Apple ID.
Step 1: Sign in to your iCloud account
- Go to the iCloud website (www.icloud.com) and sign in with your current email address and password.
- If you're using a two-factor authentication (2FA) code, enter it to complete the sign-in process.
Step 2: Go to the Account Settings page
- Click on your name or profile picture in the top right corner of the iCloud page, then select "Account Settings" from the dropdown menu.
Step 3: Update your email address
- Scroll down to the "Account" section and click on "Edit" next to "Email address".
- Enter your new email address in the "New email address" field.
- Enter your new email address again to confirm.
- Click "Save" to update your email address.
Step 4: Update your Apple ID email address
- Go back to the "Account Settings" page and click on "Edit" next to "Apple ID".
- Enter your new email address in the "New Apple ID" field.
- Enter your new email address again to confirm.
- Click "Save" to update your Apple ID email address.
Step 5: Verify your new email address
- You'll receive an email from Apple to verify your new email address. Click on the verification link in the email to confirm your new email address.
Step 6: Update your iCloud account
- Go back to the iCloud website and sign in with your new email address and password.
- You may need to re-enter your 2FA code to complete the sign-in process.
Step 7: Update your devices
- On your iOS devices, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud and sign in with your new email address and password.
- On your Mac, go to System Preferences > iCloud and sign in with your new email address and password.
That's it! Your iCloud email address should now be updated. Remember to update any other services or accounts that use your old iCloud email address.
