A blast from the past!

Katarak was a web-based email service provided by NetZero, a now-defunct internet service provider (ISP) in the United States. NetZero was founded in 1996 and was known for offering free internet access with ads, as well as a range of other internet-related services.

Katarak was one of the email services offered by NetZero, and it was available to users who signed up for a NetZero account. The service allowed users to access their email from any web browser, and it included features such as:

• Support for multiple email accounts
• Spam filtering
• Virus scanning
• Address book
• Calendar

Katarak was discontinued by NetZero in 2012, along with many of its other services. At the time, NetZero cited a decline in the use of its email services and a shift towards more modern communication methods, such as social media and messaging apps.
