Msn email exchange server settings
Here are the typical settings for an MSN email account on an exchange server:
Incoming Mail Server:
- Server name:
microsoft.com
- Port:
587
(or25
for SSL/TLS) - Authentication:
Username and Password
- Encryption:
TLS
(orSSL
for older versions)
Outgoing Mail Server:
- Server name:
microsoft.com
- Port:
587
(or25
for SSL/TLS) - Authentication:
Username and Password
- Encryption:
TLS
(orSSL
for older versions)
Additional Settings:
- Use the same username and password for both incoming and outgoing mail servers.
- Make sure to enable SSL/TLS encryption for both incoming and outgoing mail servers.
- If you're using a third-party email client, you may need to configure the account settings manually.
Notes:
- MSN email accounts are no longer supported by Microsoft, and the service has been discontinued. However, you may still be able to access your account using an exchange server.
- If you're having trouble connecting to your MSN email account, you may need to check with your email provider or IT administrator for assistance.
- Some email clients may not support MSN email accounts, so you may need to use a different email client or service.
Here are some examples of how to configure MSN email account settings in popular email clients:
- Outlook: Go to File > Account Settings > Account > More Settings > Outgoing Server > My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
- Mozilla Thunderbird: Go to Tools > Account Settings > Outgoing Server > Authentication > Use username and password.
- Apple Mail: Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Outgoing Mail Server > Authentication > Use username and password.
Remember to replace microsoft.com
with your actual email provider's server name, and adjust the port numbers and encryption settings as needed.
