Msn hotmail

A blast from the past!

MSN Hotmail was a popular free web-based email service that was launched in 1996 by Hotmail, a company founded by Sabeer Bhatia and Jack Smith. In 1997, Microsoft acquired Hotmail for $400 million and rebranded it as MSN Hotmail.

At its peak, MSN Hotmail had over 200 million users worldwide, making it one of the most popular email services in the world. The service offered a range of features, including:

  1. Free email accounts with a @hotmail.com address
  2. Web-based email access
  3. POP3 and IMAP support for accessing email from other email clients
  4. Storage space for attachments and messages
  5. Spam and virus protection
  6. Integration with other Microsoft services, such as MSN Messenger and Windows Live

In 2012, Microsoft announced that it would be retiring the MSN Hotmail brand and replacing it with Outlook.com, a new email service that was designed to be more modern and feature-rich. The transition was completed in 2013, and MSN Hotmail was officially shut down.

Although MSN Hotmail is no longer available, many people still use their @hotmail.com email addresses, which are now managed by Outlook.com.
