Optus outlook mail settings
Here are the steps to set up Optus Outlook mail settings:
IMAP Settings:
- Server: outlook.office365.com
- Port: 993
- Encryption: SSL
- Username: Your Optus email address (e.g. [yourname]@optus.com.au)
- Password: Your Optus email password
SMTP Settings:
- Server: smtp.office365.com
- Port: 587
- Encryption: TLS
- Username: Your Optus email address (e.g. [yourname]@optus.com.au)
- Password: Your Optus email password
Additional Settings:
- Authentication: Use the same username and password as your IMAP settings
- Leave a copy of messages on the server: Yes
- Check for new messages every: [choose a frequency, e.g. every 15 minutes]
Outlook Configuration:
- Open Outlook and go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings
- Click on "New" to add a new email account
- Select "Manual setup or additional server types" and click "Next"
- Select "Internet Email" and click "Next"
- Enter your name, email address, and password
- Click "More Settings"
- Go to the "Outgoing Server" tab and select "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"
- Select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server"
- Go to the "Advanced" tab and enter the IMAP and SMTP server settings above
- Click "OK" to save the settings
- Click "Next" and then "Finish" to complete the setup
Troubleshooting Tips:
- Make sure your Optus email account is set up correctly and you can access it through the Optus website or mobile app.
- Check that your Outlook account is set up correctly and you can send and receive emails through other email clients.
