Outlook 2016 hotmail connector
The Outlook 2016 Hotmail Connector!
The Hotmail Connector was a feature in Outlook 2016 that allowed users to connect their Hotmail accounts to Outlook and access their Hotmail emails, contacts, and calendar events directly within Outlook.
However, as of October 2015, Microsoft announced that the Hotmail Connector would be discontinued and replaced with the Outlook.com Connector. The Outlook.com Connector is a newer and more modern way to connect your Outlook.com (formerly Hotmail) account to Outlook.
Here are some key differences between the Hotmail Connector and the Outlook.com Connector:
Hotmail Connector (discontinued):
- Only supported Hotmail accounts, not Outlook.com accounts
- Limited features, such as only allowing access to email and contacts
- Not compatible with newer Outlook versions, including Outlook 2019 and Outlook 2021
Outlook.com Connector:
- Supports both Hotmail and Outlook.com accounts
- Offers more features, such as access to calendar events, tasks, and notes
- Compatible with newer Outlook versions, including Outlook 2019 and Outlook 2021
To connect your Outlook.com account to Outlook 2016, follow these steps:
- Open Outlook 2016 and go to File > Add Account.
- Select "Manual setup or additional server types" and click "Next".
- Select "Outlook.com" and click "Connect".
- Enter your Outlook.com email address and password, and click "Sign in".
- Follow the prompts to complete the setup process.
Note that if you're using an older version of Outlook, you may need to use the Hotmail Connector. However, Microsoft recommends using the Outlook.com Connector for all Outlook.com accounts.
