Report email scams to fcc free

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has a process for reporting email scams, and it's free! Here's how to do it:

Method 1: FCC's Consumer Complaint Center

  1. Go to the FCC's Consumer Complaint Center website: www.fcc.gov/complaints.
  2. Click on "File a Consumer Complaint" and select "Email" as the type of complaint.
  3. Fill out the online complaint form, providing as much detail as possible about the scam email, including:
    • The subject line and content of the email
    • The sender's email address
    • Any attachments or links included in the email
    • Any phone numbers or other contact information provided in the email
  4. Click "Submit" to file your complaint.

Method 2: FCC's Online Complaint Form

  1. Go to the FCC's Online Complaint Form website: www.fcc.gov/complaints/filing-complaint.
  2. Select "Email" as the type of complaint.
  3. Fill out the online form, providing the same information as described above.
  4. Click "Submit" to file your complaint.

What happens after you report the scam?

After you file your complaint, the FCC will:

  1. Review your complaint to determine if it's a legitimate scam.
  2. Forward your complaint to the appropriate law enforcement agency, such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) or the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
  3. Add your complaint to the FCC's database, which helps identify patterns and trends in email scams.

Additional tips:

Remember, reporting email scams helps the FCC and other authorities take action against scammers and protect consumers.
