Royal Mail Redirection is a service offered by Royal Mail that allows you to redirect your mail to a new address, usually when you're moving home or away from the UK. Here's how it works:
Types of Redirection:
- Personal Redirection: Redirects mail to a new address for a specific period (up to 12 months).
- Business Redirection: Redirects mail to a new address for a specific period (up to 12 months) and is suitable for businesses.
- Permanent Redirection: Redirects mail to a new address indefinitely.
How to Set Up a Redirection:
- Online: Visit the Royal Mail website and fill out the online application form.
- Phone: Call Royal Mail's customer service on 03457 740 740 (Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm).
- Post: Complete the application form and send it to Royal Mail, Redirections, PO Box 139, Bristol, BS99 7NA.
What's Included:
- Redirecting of mail to your new address
- Notification of redirection to your old address (if applicable)
- Storage of mail for up to 6 months (if you're not available to collect it)
Fees:
- Personal Redirection: £33.99 for 6 months, £54.99 for 12 months
- Business Redirection: £55.99 for 6 months, £89.99 for 12 months
- Permanent Redirection: £89.99 (one-off payment)
Important Notes:
- You must set up your redirection at least 3 working days before your move date.
- You can only redirect mail to a UK address.
- Some types of mail, such as large or bulky items, may not be redirected.
- You're responsible for collecting your redirected mail from the post office or sorting office.
