The United States Postal Service (USPS) offers a service called "Hold Mail" that allows you to temporarily suspend mail delivery to your mailbox while you're away. Here's how to do it:

Online:

1. Go to the USPS website (usps.com).
2. Click on "Manage Your Mail" and then "Hold Mail".
3. Sign in to your USPS account or create one if you don't have one already.
4. Enter your address and the dates you'd like to hold your mail.
5. Confirm your request.

By Phone:

1. Call the USPS Customer Service number at 1-800-275-8777.
2. Tell the representative that you'd like to hold your mail while you're away on vacation.
3. Provide your address and the dates you'd like to hold your mail.
4. Confirm your request.

In Person:

1. Visit your local post office.
2. Let the postal clerk know that you'd like to hold your mail while you're away on vacation.

What happens to your mail:

When you request to hold your mail, the USPS will:

1. Stop delivering mail to your mailbox.
2. Hold your mail at the local post office for the specified period.
3. Keep your mail safe and secure until you return.

Tips:

• You can hold your mail for up to 30 days.
• If you need to hold your mail for a longer period, you'll need to contact your local post office to make arrangements.
• If you have a PO box, you can also hold your mail by contacting the post office where your PO box is located.
• Don't forget to request that your mail be held before you leave for your vacation to avoid any missed deliveries!
