UTA (University of Texas at Arlington) email setup for mail clients!

To set up your UTA email account on a mail client, you'll need to follow these steps:

Step 1: Enable IMAP/POP3

  1. Log in to your UTA email account at mail.uta.edu.
  2. Click on the gear icon () in the top right corner and select "Settings".
  3. Scroll down to the "Accounts" section and click on "Edit".
  4. Under "Account settings", toggle the switch next to "IMAP" or "POP3" to the "On" position.
  5. Click "Save Changes".

Step 2: Set up your mail client

Choose your mail client:

Outlook (Windows/Mac)

  1. Open Outlook and go to "File" > "Add Account".
  2. Select "Manual setup or additional server types" and click "Next".
  3. Choose "POP or IMAP" and click "Next".
  4. Enter the following settings:
    • Your Name: Your name (e.g., John Doe)
    • Email Address: Your UTA email address (e.g., [email protected])
    • Account Type: POP3 or IMAP
    • Incoming mail server: mail.uta.edu
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.uta.edu
    • User Name: Your UTA email address (e.g., [email protected])
    • Password: Your UTA email password
  5. Click "Next" and then "Finish".

Mozilla Thunderbird (Windows/Mac/Linux)

  1. Open Thunderbird and go to "File" > "New" > "Email Account".
  2. Enter the following settings:
    • Your Name: Your name (e.g., John Doe)
    • Email Address: Your UTA email address (e.g., [email protected])
    • Account Type: POP3 or IMAP
    • Incoming mail server: mail.uta.edu
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.uta.edu
    • User Name: Your UTA email address (e.g., [email protected])
    • Password: Your UTA email password
  3. Click "Next" and then "Finish".

Apple Mail (Mac)

  1. Open Apple Mail and go to "Mail" > "Preferences" > "Accounts".
  2. Click the "+" button to add a new account.
  3. Enter the following settings:
    • Account Type: POP3 or IMAP
    • Description: Your name (e.g., John Doe)
    • Incoming Mail Server: mail.uta.edu
    • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mail.uta.edu
    • User Name: Your UTA email address (e.g., [email protected])
    • Password: Your UTA email password
  4. Click "Create" and then "Make New".

Android Email Client

  1. Open your Android email client (e.g., Gmail, Outlook, or Email by Google).
  2. Tap the "+" icon to add a new account.
  3. Enter the following settings:
    • Account Type: POP3 or IMAP
    • Username: Your UTA email address (e.g., [email protected])
    • Password: Your UTA email password
    • Server: mail.uta.edu
    • Port: 995 (POP3) or 993 (IMAP)
  4. Tap "Next" and then "Finish".

That's it! You should now be able to access your UTA email account using your chosen mail client.
