Whitelist emails in gmail
Whitelisting emails in Gmail allows you to mark specific senders or domains as trusted, so that their emails are not flagged as spam or blocked. Here's how to whitelist emails in Gmail:
Method 1: Whitelist a sender
- Open your Gmail inbox.
- Click on the gear icon () in the upper right corner and select "See all settings."
- Go to the "Filters and Blocked Addresses" tab.
- Click on "Create a new filter."
- In the "From" field, enter the email address of the sender you want to whitelist.
- Click on "Create filter."
- In the "Apply the label" dropdown menu, select "Never send it to spam."
- Click on "Create."
Method 2: Whitelist a domain
- Open your Gmail inbox.
- Click on the gear icon () in the upper right corner and select "See all settings."
- Go to the "Filters and Blocked Addresses" tab.
- Click on "Create a new filter."
- In the "To" field, enter the domain name (e.g., @example.com) you want to whitelist.
- Click on "Create filter."
- In the "Apply the label" dropdown menu, select "Never send it to spam."
- Click on "Create."
Method 3: Whitelist a sender using the "Not spam" label
- Open your Gmail inbox.
- Click on the email from the sender you want to whitelist.
- Click on the three vertical dots at the top right corner of the email.
- Select "Mark as not spam."
- This will add the sender's email address to your "Not spam" label.
Tips:
- You can also whitelist senders by adding them to your contacts list. To do this, open the email from the sender, click on the three vertical dots at the top right corner, and select "Add to contacts."
- If you're using Gmail's "Priority Inbox" feature, whitelisted senders may still be marked as "Unread" or "Important" if their emails are deemed important by Gmail's algorithms.
- Whitelisting emails does not guarantee that they will not be flagged as spam or blocked in the future. If you're experiencing issues with a specific sender, you may need to contact their email administrator to resolve the issue.
