Why my sent mail goes to outbox in gmail

There are a few reasons why your sent mail might be going to the "Outbox" instead of being sent and removed from the "Sent" folder in Gmail:

  1. Drafts folder: If you have a draft email that you haven't sent yet, it will be stored in the "Drafts" folder. Make sure you're not accidentally sending a draft instead of a new email.
  2. Outbox settings: Check your Gmail settings to see if the "Outbox" is set as the default folder for sent emails. To do this:
    • Log in to your Gmail account.
    • Click on the gear icon () in the upper right corner.
    • Select "See all settings."
    • Go to the "General" tab.
    • Look for the "Default send action" dropdown menu.
    • Make sure it's set to "Move to 'Sent' folder" instead of "Leave in 'Outbox'."
  3. Email client or app: If you're using an email client or app to send emails, it might be configured to store sent emails in the "Outbox" folder instead of the "Sent" folder. Check your email client or app settings to see if this is the case.
  4. Gmail Labs: If you're using a Gmail Labs feature, it might be causing the issue. Try disabling any Labs features that you're not using and see if the problem persists.
  5. Browser or device issue: Sometimes, browser or device issues can cause emails to be stuck in the "Outbox" folder. Try closing and reopening your browser or restarting your device to see if the problem resolves itself.
  6. Gmail glitch: It's possible that Gmail is experiencing a temporary glitch. Try waiting for a few hours and see if the issue resolves itself.

If none of these solutions work, you can try contacting Gmail support for further assistance.
