Windows live mail 2016 gmail

A blast from the past!

Windows Live Mail 2016 is an older email client that was part of the Windows Live suite of products. While it's no longer supported by Microsoft, I can try to help you set up your Gmail account in Windows Live Mail 2016.

Here are the steps:

  1. Open Windows Live Mail 2016 and click on "Accounts" in the top menu bar.
  2. Click on "Add an email account" and select "Manual setup or additional server types".
  3. Choose "POP" or "IMAP" as the account type (IMAP is recommended for most users).
  4. Enter your Gmail address and password.
  5. For the incoming mail server, enter imap.gmail.com (or imap.gmail.com for IMAP).
  6. For the outgoing mail server, enter smtp.gmail.com.
  7. Set the port numbers as follows:
    • Incoming (IMAP): 993
    • Outgoing (SMTP): 587
  8. Check the box next to "Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)".
  9. Click "Next" and then "Finish" to complete the setup.

Note: If you're using 2-Step Verification (2SV) with your Gmail account, you'll need to generate an App Password and use that instead of your regular password.

Also, keep in mind that Windows Live Mail 2016 is no longer supported by Microsoft, and you may encounter issues or compatibility problems with newer Gmail features. If you're experiencing issues, you may want to consider switching to a more modern email client or web-based email service.
