Windows live mail setting
Here are the steps to set up Windows Live Mail:
Step 1: Launch Windows Live Mail
- Go to Start > All Programs > Windows Live > Windows Live Mail
Step 2: Create a new email account
- Click on "Email" in the top menu bar and select "Add an email account"
- Enter your email address and password
- Click "Next"
Step 3: Choose your email provider
- Select "Manual setup or additional server types"
- Choose your email provider from the list (e.g. Outlook.com, Gmail, Yahoo, etc.)
- Click "Next"
Step 4: Enter your email settings
- Enter the following settings:
- Incoming mail server: imap.gmail.com (or your email provider's IMAP server)
- Outgoing mail server: smtp.gmail.com (or your email provider's SMTP server)
- User name: your email address
- Password: your email password
- Port: 993 (or your email provider's recommended port)
- SSL/TLS: Yes
- Click "Next"
Step 5: Set up your account
- Windows Live Mail will try to connect to your email account
- If successful, you will see a confirmation message
- Click "Finish" to complete the setup process
Additional settings
- You can also set up additional settings, such as:
- Account name: Enter a name for your email account
- Display name: Enter a name that will appear in the "From" field of your emails
- Signature: Enter a signature that will be added to the end of your emails
- Junk email settings: Choose how you want to handle junk emails
Troubleshooting tips
- If you encounter any issues during the setup process, try the following:
- Check your email provider's settings and make sure they match the settings in Windows Live Mail
- Make sure your email account is active and not blocked
- Try restarting Windows Live Mail and setting up your account again
