A Yale University email account!

To set up a Yale University email account (yale.edu) on Microsoft Outlook 365, follow these steps:

Step 1: Sign in to Yale's email portal

  1. Go to mail.yale.edu and sign in with your Yale NetID and password.
  2. Click on the "Settings" icon (represented by a gear) in the top right corner of the page.
  3. Select "View all Outlook settings" from the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Set up Outlook 365

  1. Click on the "Mail" tab and then click on "Account settings".
  2. Click on "Add account" and select "Manual setup or additional server types".
  3. Select "Microsoft Exchange" and enter the following settings:
    • User Information:
      • Your Name: Your full name
      • Email Address: Your Yale email address (e.g., [email protected])
    • Server Information:
      • Server: outlook.office365.com
      • Port: 443
    • Authentication:
      • Use the same settings as your Yale email account (NetID and password)
  4. Click "Next" and then "Finish" to complete the setup process.

Step 3: Configure Outlook 365

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook 365 and sign in with your Yale email account credentials.
  2. Click on the "File" menu and select "Account Settings".
  3. Click on the "Account" tab and select your Yale email account.
  4. Click on the "More Settings" button and select the "Advanced" tab.
  5. Under "Server settings", make sure the following settings are enabled:
    • Use the following URL for the AutoDiscover service: outlook.office365.com
    • Use the following URL for the Exchange Web Services: outlook.office365.com
  6. Click "OK" to save your changes.

That's it! Your Yale University email account (yale.edu) should now be set up on Microsoft Outlook 365.
