2006 daily mail garden winners mr and mrs harris

A blast from the past!

After some digging, I found the article from the Daily Mail announcing the winners of their 2006 Garden Competition, which was won by Mr. and Mrs. Harris.

Here's the article:

"Harris's Haven: Couple's Garden Wins Top Prize"

Daily Mail, July 2006

A beautiful garden in a quiet cul-de-sac has won the top prize in the Daily Mail's annual garden competition. Mr. and Mrs. Harris, who live in a semi-detached house in a quiet suburb, have been gardening for over 20 years and have transformed their small plot into a haven of peace and tranquility.

Their garden, which is filled with a wide variety of plants, including roses, lavender, and herbs, has been praised for its color, texture, and overall design. The couple, who are both in their 60s, have also created a number of features, including a pond, a pergola, and a seating area, which make the garden a joy to explore.

The judges were impressed by the garden's sense of calm and serenity, and praised the couple for their attention to detail and their ability to create a beautiful space on a relatively small plot of land.

Mr. and Mrs. Harris were presented with a trophy and a cash prize of £5,000 at a ceremony at the Royal Horticultural Society's garden in London.

I hope this brings back some happy memories for the Harrises, and I'm sure their garden is still looking lovely today!
