Do t4's have to be mailed

In the United States, the IRS requires that Form 1040, also known as the Individual Income Tax Return, be filed electronically or by mail. There is no option to file a paper return by fax or email.

If you need to file a paper return, you can mail it to the IRS at the following address:

Internal Revenue Service 1111 Constitution Ave NW Washington, DC 20224-0002

However, the IRS encourages taxpayers to file electronically, as it is generally faster and more accurate. Electronic filing also allows you to receive your refund faster, as the IRS can process electronic returns more quickly than paper returns.

If you need to file a paper return, make sure to:

  1. Use the correct address: Use the address above for paper returns.
  2. Use the correct form: Use Form 1040, Individual Income Tax Return.
  3. Sign and date the form: Sign and date the form in the space provided.
  4. Attach all required documents: Attach all required documents, such as W-2s, 1099s, and other supporting documents.
  5. Use the correct postage: Use the correct postage for the weight and size of your return.

Remember to keep a copy of your return and supporting documents for your records.
