How to create a group mail id in gmail
Creating a group email address in Gmail is a simple process that allows you to send emails to multiple recipients with a single email address. Here's how to do it:
Method 1: Create a Group Email Address using Gmail Contacts
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the "Contacts" button in the left-hand menu.
- Click on the "Create contact" button.
- Enter the name of the group in the "Name" field.
- Add the email addresses of the people you want to include in the group in the "Email" field. You can add multiple email addresses by separating them with commas.
- Click on the "Save" button.
Now, you can use the group email address to send emails to all the members of the group. To do this, simply type the group email address in the "To" field when composing a new email.
Method 2: Create a Group Email Address using Gmail Labels
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the "Compose" button to create a new email.
- In the "To" field, type the email address of the first person you want to include in the group, followed by a semicolon (;).
- Add the email addresses of the other people you want to include in the group, separated by semicolons.
- Click on the "Send" button.
Gmail will automatically create a group email address based on the email addresses you entered. You can use this group email address to send emails to all the members of the group.
Tips:
- When you create a group email address using Method 1, you can also add a description and a photo to the group contact.
- When you create a group email address using Method 2, you can also use the "To" field to add or remove members from the group.
- You can also use Gmail's "Cc" field to send emails to a group of people without adding them to the "To" field.
- Keep in mind that group email addresses are not the same as distribution lists, which are a feature available in some email providers.
