How to show attachments as icons in mac mail
By default, Mac Mail displays attachments as a list of files, but you can change this to show them as icons. Here's how:
- Open Mac Mail and go to Mail > Preferences (or use the keyboard shortcut
Cmd +,
). - In the Preferences window, click on the General tab.
- Uncheck the box next to Show attachments as a list.
- Check the box next to Show attachments as icons.
- Click OK to save your changes.
Alternatively, you can also change this setting for a specific mailbox or account:
- Select the mailbox or account you want to modify.
- Right-click (or control-click) on the mailbox or account name in the left sidebar.
- Select Get Info from the context menu.
- In the Get Info window, uncheck the box next to Show attachments as a list.
- Check the box next to Show attachments as icons.
- Click OK to save your changes.
Once you've made this change, Mac Mail will display attachments as icons instead of a list. You can still click on the icon to view the attachment details and download or open the file as needed.
