Add second gmail account to apple mail
To add a second Gmail account to Apple Mail on your Mac or iOS device, follow these steps:
On a Mac:
- Open Apple Mail on your Mac.
- Click on "Mail" in the top menu bar and select "Preferences."
- Click on the "Accounts" tab.
- Click the "+" button at the bottom left corner of the window.
- Select "Other Mail Account" from the dropdown menu.
- Enter your second Gmail account's email address and password.
- Click "Continue."
- Select "IMAP" as the account type.
- Enter the following settings:
- Incoming Mail Server: imap.gmail.com
- Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com
- User Name: your second Gmail account's email address
- Password: your second Gmail account's password
- Click "Create."
- You should now see your second Gmail account listed in the Accounts tab.
On an iOS device:
- Open the Settings app on your iOS device.
- Tap on "Mail, Contacts, Calendars."
- Tap on "Add Account."
- Select "Other" from the list of account types.
- Tap on "Add Mail Account."
- Enter your second Gmail account's email address and password.
- Tap "Next."
- Select "IMAP" as the account type.
- Enter the following settings:
- Host Name: imap.gmail.com
- Username: your second Gmail account's email address
- Password: your second Gmail account's password
- Tap "Next."
- Tap "Save."
- You should now see your second Gmail account listed in the Mail app.
Note: If you're using 2-Step Verification (2SV) with your second Gmail account, you may need to generate an App Password to use with Apple Mail. To do this, follow these steps:
- Sign in to your second Gmail account on a computer.
- Go to the Google Account settings page.
- Click on "Security" from the left-hand menu.
- Click on "App passwords."
- Select "Other (Custom name)" and enter a name for the app password.
- Click "Generate."
- Enter the generated app password in the password field when setting up your second Gmail account in Apple Mail.
